Humble Beginnings – How we Started

Humble beginnings in a small first-floor flat was how Crime Prevention Services was established in 1982 by the late Geoff Farrell.

We remain to this day a family run business who we started in a small premises in Queensferry, near the steel town of Shotton, North Wales, which we quickly outgrew. In 1989 Geoff knew that CPS needed the space to continue to grow and work began on our bespoke, well situated head office alongside the North Wales A55 Expressway in Northop, Flintshire.

Every day many people pass us and the CPS building has become something of a local landmark!

Having started with just three members of staff, our company now has over 70 employees and a fleet of over 30 vehicles. And at the turn of the millennium we proudly opened our state-of-the-art Alarm Receiving Centre, specifically built to provide our clients with a complete security solution.

A year that will sadly be remembered for many of our long standing employees and clients was 2006 when Geoff Farrell passed away suddenly. He was the driving force that grew the company from a local business to a national enterprise and established our excellent reputation. He was and still is greatly missed.

Our dedicated senior management team are still the driving force behind our company and continue to provide the “personal touch” which was so important to Geoff.
