Humble Beginnings How we Started

Humble beginnings in a small first-floor flat was how Crime Prevention Services was established in 1982 by the late Geoff Farrell.

We remain to this day a family run business who, as stated, started from a first-floor flat in Queensferry, near the steel town of Shotton, North Wales, which we quickly outgrew. We then progressed to small offices also in Queensferry.  And in 1989 Geoff knew that CPS needed the space to continue to grow and work began on our bespoke, well situated head office.

Every day many people pass us as we are adjacent to the heavily used North Wales A55 Expressway, and the CPS building has become something of a local landmark!

Having started with just three members of staff, our company now has over 70 employees and a fleet of over 30 vehicles. And at the turn of the Millennium we proudly opened our state of the art Alarm Receiving Centre, specifically built to provide our clients with a complete security solution.

A year that will sadly be remembered for many of our long standing employees and clients was 2006 when Geoff Farrell passed away suddenly. He was the driving force that grew the company from a local business to a national enterprise and established our excellent reputation.

Following this, we appointed a new board of Directors, which include Karen Farrell as Managing Director, David Evans as Technical Director, Dan Farrell as Sales Director and Laura Farrell as Operations Director.  They are still the driving force behind our company and are greatly respected in their field.
